Lessons and Training
Whether riding to compete or for pleasure, BRF’s proven lesson program provides riders with the proper training and the opportunity to accomplish whatever their equine goals may be. The lesson program includes riding instruction, information on the care of horses and tack, competition preparation, and stable etiquette. Lessons can be taken on your horse or one of our many talented school horses. Tack and helmets are available for all riders, using a lesson horse.
Each horseback riding lesson is thoughtfully structured to provide a safe, educational, and enjoyable experience tailored to the rider’s individual skill level and goals. Riders can expect a warm-up on the ground or in the saddle, followed by focused instruction on position, control, and communication with the horse. Lessons may include dressage, or jumping, depending on the rider’s level and discipline. Emphasis is always placed on proper horsemanship, confidence building, and developing a strong partnership with the horse. Whether you’re a beginner learning the basics or an experienced rider fine-tuning your skills, every lesson is designed to help you grow and progress in a supportive environment.
Quality training is the foundation of excellence, which starts in the lesson. Through private instruction, Blue Ridge Farm offers each rider a customized riding education based on their individual ability and goals. Jeffrey Taylor and his team of seasoned instructors have guided many riders and horses alike through the many levels Eventing, Dressage, and Hunter/Jumper.
